The K9 Shop plays host to its first Wellness Expo June 15 in Massapequa

The brand-new K9 Shop Wellness Center in Massapequa is gearing up for its first-ever pet Wellness Expo on North Broadway.

And the place will be packed, with nearly a dozen vendors and a full lineup of guest speakers on the slate.

Also, Gino’s of Seaford will be handing out free pizza from noon to 1 p.m.

The K9 Shop’s wellness center, dubbed a WholeFoods for pets, opened this spring with the idea of offering a year-long lineup of educational programs to Long Island pet lovers.

“This is the first of many events to provide valuable information to our current customers and individuals interested in taking the next steps to provide their pets with a healthy lifestyle,” said Robert Tucker, who founded The K9 Shop, “Where real dogs eat raw,” with his wife, Anya, in 2018.

They now operate six locations across Long Island and South Carolina.

“Having events like this and constant in-store education is our way of making sure pet owners have all the tools they need to make valid choices for the health of their pets,” Tucker said. “The K9 Shop believes knowledge is power and our new Wellness Center is packed full of education, knowledge, and information to enhance your pets’s health and well being.”

To do so, the company has partnered with industry experts and leading brands to showcase this healthy lifestyle and provide information for individuals to make educated choices about their pets.

The speakers

Dr. Lynda Loudon of The Canine Leadership Summit will be speaking from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. about vaccinations and overall pet health. Carter Easler from CBD Dog Health will be on hand from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m. to talk about CBD and mushrooms for aging pets. Rounding out the slate, the Billy Hoekman from Green JuJu will speak about Green JuJu and general nutrition from 3 to 5 p.m.
