EUGENE, Ore. – Greenhill Humane Society is looking to restock its pet pantry, which helps folks who might need a little extra help with pet supplies.
Greenhill’s pet pantry is a service they offer to help provide pet food to folks with pets in need of financial assistance. Greenhill staff said the need for pet food is significant headed into the summer months, but they currently don’t have the supplies to meet the demand. To help bolster their stocks, Greenhill is asking for donations so they can help people keep their pets in their homes.
“The demand is always there and sometimes the supplies are not as great as we’d like to extend throughout Lane County, but our local community can really help us out,” said Sarah Bouzad, Greenhill’s community engagement and events manager. “Like maybe when they’re purchasing a bag of food for their dog, they’re also picking up one for a sheltered pet and dropping it off at the shelter.”
Greenhill is asking for donations of dog and cat food, bedding, treats, and toys. Folks interested in donating to the pet pantry program can do so by heading to the shelter at 88530 Green Hill Road to drop off their donations. Greenhill also has an Amazon wishlist with a list of other needed supplies.
