Alexandria, VA – Welcome to The Dog Park, 705 King Street in Old Town, a locally owned pet boutique specializing in unique items for your dog and cats and has a full-service grooming salon.

Markos Panas, Noelie Rickey, and Doug Abedje, owners since November 22, 2022, have transformed the store into a go-to spot for hard-to-find items and services. In April 2023, the store added grooming services seven days a week with two experienced groomers, Cherie Fresquez and Melina Talavera. Bathing, cuts, brushing, de-matting, hand stripping, nail care, and teeth brushing are offered.

The Dog Park’s lead groomer, Cherie, specializes in hand stripping, a time-consuming process that hand pulls the dead topcoat of fur without clipping for wire-haired breeds to maintain their beautiful textured coats.

The Dog Park offers an amazing variety of North American-made treats, decorated dog cookies, chews, and bones for every dog’s taste. And if The Dog Park doesn’t have it, Noeli will make it her mission to locate items that are difficult to find.

Having worked many years as a veterinary technician and a retail regional manager, Noeli is a source of knowledge for her patrons and understands the unique relationship every pet owner has with their companion. She’s always ready to offer information to help customers solve challenging problems with their pets.

The store has been a fixture in the community for over 13 years. Now Noelie, Markos and Doug are eager to ensure the store reflects their commitment to the neighborhood. They hope to see and service your pet this holiday season and beyond.

“People come in with their animals, and they’re happy,” says Markos. “You have an animal, and everyone can connect.” Noeli chimes in, “I always tell people that if you are having a bad day, then you are in the wrong place; the kind of vibe here is cute toys, happy people, and dogs.”
