Ireland’s pet experts Petmania have unveiled a comprehensive one-stop health and wellness destination for pets and their owners in Athlone.

The new store, based in Monksland, Athlone, marks the Irish owned company’s 16th store opening nationwide and brings unrivalled expertise in pet health and nutrition as well as a host of high-quality services and pet care experiences to the area.

The new two-storey, 6,000 square foot design combines the best of Petmania’s services and offerings, including a new, state-of-the-art grooming studio, a custom-built dog training school, dedicated interactive customer hubs and specially curated merchandised areas for a complete pet care wellness and shopping experience.

Every component of the new store and its layout has been designed to cultivate a seamless experience that will nurture not only the bond between pets and their owners, but between Petmania and its loyal customer base, ensuring they can trust and rely on Petmania as more than just a pet store – but as a source of valuable information, qualified advice and highly-trained expertise across the entire Petmania team.

“The team here in Athlone are delighted the store is now open, allowing us to provide our expert services and quality advice to even more of our loyal customers. We are really looking forward to welcoming pets and pet owners to this revolutionary pet care experience. It’s a very exciting time for Petmania, with iPet qualified team members, consistent upskilling and training and a host of new services being brought to the community and helping us define ourselves as the home of total pet-care in Ireland,” Sam Koenig, store manager at the new Petmania store, said.

The new store, which is located at Unit 1, Daneswell Business Centre, Monksland, Athone, will house a full suite of experiences, products and services, tailored to the complete care of pets, including:

State of the art grooming studio: The store features a newly designed, state of the art dog grooming studio, offering an extensive range of treatment for all dogs, from puppy to senior, including specialist therapy baths available for those with more sensitive skin or issues such as excessive shedding and muscle and joint care.

Dedicated dog training school: The new store is one of the first Petmania stores to offer dog training courses in a custom-built training facility on the second floor, which will be delivered by champion trainer Dawn Greer with four types of courses on offer, from puppy pre-school to an intermediate certificate for adult dogs.

Interactive shopping features: New interactive store features include a dedicated digital health hub where customers can access key advice and expert tips at the touch of a button during store visits, as well as in-store shopping aids, designed to help customers choose everything from the best dog food for their pet to the perfect dog bed. Just like human beds, there is no ‘one size fits all’ for dogs!

Microchipping Services: As the first company in Ireland to offer microchipping services, outside of veterinary clinics, Petmania is making it more convenient than ever for pet-owners to achieve pet identification. The convenient and seamless experience means that Petmania are helping reduce the number of lost animals ending up in rescue centres as microchipping pets makes it easier to reunite the animals with their owners.

Products and brands: To enhance the customer shopping experience, the new store sees designated areas for dogs and cats, with carefully curated spaces dedicated to pets whole health and a key focus on nutrition, as well as the ultimate treat department – featuring a pet bakery and ‘pick and mix’ selection stand.

Partner rescue centres: The store will regularly welcome visits from their dedicated local partner rescue centre, Roscommon SPCA, who will host in-store adoption days as well as having an in-store donation station for members of the community who wish to contribute to the local animal welfare centre.

An extensive healthcare department also features in-store to assist in supporting the local pets’ everyday health and wellness while Petmania also launches a new partnership between Petmania and An Post Pet Insurance.

All Petmania team members are qualified canine first responders (first aid for dogs ) and are iPet Network trained pet-care professionals. The community will also not only have access to talented pet-loving team members but those with unrivalled expertise in key areas such as pet health, grooming, nutrition and dog training.
